One of the problems that besets highly specialised fields such as radiopharmacy is poor communications. In most departments there will only be one or two individuals working in the speciality and even in the largest the numbers will rarely exceed half a dozen. VirRAD is a new project which seeks to explore ways to foster an on-line radiopharmacy commmunity in an attempt to improve communications and learning within the speciality.
Access to the project willl be via the VirRAD web-site which will be a “one stop shop” providing a range of resources for anyone looking for information in the field of radiopharmacy. These will include a distance-learning course in radiopharmacy which is functional at a number of discrete levels and incorporates realistic life-like simulations of the work environment. These resources will be positioned within a user-friendly virtual environment that will facilitate exchanges at all levels within the community.
